Freya Ellingham

Freya Ellingham is a consultant for Legacy Link, supporting several charities with fully outsourced legacy administration, and in 2017 was winner of the ILM Legacy Professional of the Year Award.

Freya started out as a Legal Secretary in 1986, working up to Senior Partner level, until her son was born in 2003. She gained experience within the Matrimonial and Family Departments, and Private Client (Probate) departments, which built her knowledge of the estate administration process. Following this, Freya worked for a period as Legal Secretary for the RSPCA, working in their Prosecutions Department, and spent two years living in New Zealand, where she continued to work as a Legal Secretary.

Alongside this, Freya worked alongside Linda Norgrove helping her to set up Legacy Link in 1998, and covering her for periods of annual leave. After a gap in her career to raise her son, Freya returned to Legacy Link as a consultant and has been working full time supporting several charities since 2012.

Freya works as a consultant via Legacy Link for a number of charities including World Horse Welfare. She is delightful to work with. She has led on a number of very difficult cases on behalf of our charity and the co-beneficiaries. She is very proactive and mindful of achieving a cost effective solution. She is really good at pulling together large numbers of charity beneficiaries to obtain a sensible way forward with complex issues. She is not afraid to challenge fees if they appear high or any indeed other difficult matters with executors.Bev Spiby, World Horse Welfare
